Coronavirus update:

To help families manage the domestic workload, I have started uploading free resources daily on my social media channels, mostly on Facebook and Instagram. Next week I'll start posting videos showing how to teach tidiness habits. For example, please download this free guide teaching how to galvanise your family members to help with meals prep and clean up (Email required - it's a large doc that will land in your inbox) https://helpfulkids.kartra.com/page/MealHelpers it also includes free ready-to-print charts.

Keep safe everyone! Lots of love, Shiri

Helpful Kids - Practical Workshops & Online Masterclasses for parents

Empowering parents & enriching families with a new approach to getting kids to help around the home

Today, when we have information only a click away, it is surprising that there is still an absence of practical, proven guidance about how to get children involved in helping around the home.

At Helpful Kids, we have developed a positive approach that works. A complete solution to getting children to help around the home.

Who we are:

At Helpful Kids, London, our programmes empower you with the skills and tools that you need to get your children helping out around the home. We use peaceful, non-confrontational methods that are packed with benefits for both your children’s personal and social development, as well as the rest of the family.

It doesn't take long before a quick Google search throws up a long list of chore charts online. However, even a good chore chart is only a tiny part of any approach that is necessary to actually get your child to carry out a household chore, without it ending in confrontation or bribery.

Helpful Kids provides a complete, unique method and a different perspective that works. Centred around intrinsic motivation, levels of competency and confidence-building, we empower parents to support their children to discover pride in helping around the home.

Simple but effective, we are always so thrilled to hear about how quickly and easily our workshop participants are able to fit our strategies into their daily routines back at home, as well as how much their children have gained from their growing confidence and increasing sense of pride.

So whether you choose to come along to one of our upcoming fun and practical Helpful Kids workshops in London, or join one of our impactful Helpful Kids online masterclasses - you can be sure that you are in good hands.

The Team

Shiri Atsmon (L.L.B, M.B.A), Helpful Kids’ Founder

As a consumer researcher at WPP, Kantar, I was involved in many projects to explore family dynamics, for our leading cleaning brands (such as Vanish, Persil and Comfort).

Over time, I began to notice that I was encountering parents over and over again who were finding it challenging to get their children to help around the home.

Thinking about my own three children, who are now between the ages of 10 and 16, I decided to look into how to get my own children to help around the home.

I wanted to find a way that would avoid the struggles that I had heard, instead I sought peaceful methods that would enrich the lives of my whole family. Leaving no book unread, I began my quest. Later, after my own successes, Helpful Kids, London was born. What helped me the most was applying my professional knowledge about how to break bad habits and create new, more beneficial ones. The science behind habit formation helps us adopt new habits in no time and without the struggle people associate with trying to take on new behaviours.

Starting with requests from friends, I was soon receiving invitations from the local community and managing our facebook page: HelpfulKidz, where we share advice and tips with parents.

Today I deliver workshops and training to parents all over the world . I am always filled with joy each time I see parents empowered and inspired by our programmes .Moreover, to make this new knowledge more accessible, I am constantly creating new materials, games and educational games. My newest game Eco Warriors introduces 20 ways that children age 5-12 can help around the home and fight climate change.
